Grand Theft Auto VI is getting more than an in-game soundtrack. Rockstar Games and Atlantic Records announced Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album on September 17, a 34-track collection of original music arriving alongside the game on November 19, 2026.
Six songs from the GTA 6 soundtrack are already streaming, and the first batch stretches from Travis Scott and Yung Lean to PinkPantheress, Rauw Alejandro, Morgan Wallen and Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards. Rockstar is also treating the project like a major physical release, with CD, vinyl and several collectible editions planned for launch.
The scale makes this more than a routine video-game soundtrack announcement. Instead of relying only on previously released songs to fill the radios of Vice City and Leonida, Rockstar has commissioned an entire album of new music tied to one of 2026’s biggest entertainment releases.
Six GTA VI Songs Are Already Out
Rockstar confirmed all six debut singles when it announced the album on September 17. Together, they give the first real indication of how broad the project’s musical identity will be.
| Song | Artist |
|---|---|
| That’s It | Yung Lean feat. Future & Metro Boomin |
| RHYNO | Travis Scott |
| Sexy Magic | CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, PinkPantheress, Fred again.. & Etienne de Crécy |
| Last Thing You Need | Morgan Wallen |
| Macacoa 2000 | Rauw Alejandro |
| Bright Lights, Big City | Keith Richards |
Even that opening group is difficult to place inside a single genre. Contemporary rap sits beside electronic music, Latin pop, country and rock, with collaborations that would look unusual on almost any conventional album.
One of the most notable credits belongs to Travis Scott’s “RHYNO.” The track was produced by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, one half of Daft Punk. Pitchfork also highlighted the production credit as part of the first wave of GTA VI music released Thursday.
The sprawling “Sexy Magic” takes a different approach, bringing CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso together with PinkPantheress, Fred again.. and French electronic musician Etienne de Crécy on a single track.
Rockstar has not revealed the remaining 28 songs. That leaves most of the album’s artists, collaborations and genre mix unknown two months before release.
This Is an Album Release, Not Just Background Music
The distinction matters because music has always occupied an unusually visible place in Grand Theft Auto. The series’ fictional radio stations mix licensed recordings, DJs, advertisements, talk segments and original material into the world players encounter while driving.
Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album is something different. It is being marketed as a standalone commercial release outside the game as well.
The complete album will arrive on major streaming services on November 19. Physical copies are being released simultaneously, and the official GTA VI album store currently lists the standard vinyl edition at $49.98, the CD at $19.98 and a limited-edition vinyl at $124.98.
Rockstar has also confirmed several collectible formats and retailer variants, including:
- A limited-edition liquid-filled vinyl
- A splatter-edition vinyl
- A CD jewel case edition
- Exclusive vinyl colors at select retailers
- Unique artwork attached to some physical editions
That release strategy looks much closer to the rollout of a major contemporary album than the traditional idea of a video-game soundtrack tucked away as a companion product.
It also puts the music on exactly the same calendar as the game. The album and Grand Theft Auto VI are both scheduled for November 19.
Travis Scott’s “RHYNO” Brings Daft Punk’s Guy-Manuel Into the Mix
Among the six songs, “RHYNO” carries one of the most intriguing behind-the-scenes credits.
Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo produced the Travis Scott track, creating a direct Daft Punk connection to the GTA VI project. Daft Punk announced the end of the duo in 2021, but both members have remained individual figures of interest in electronic music.
The credit also illustrates how Rockstar and Atlantic appear to be approaching the album. Big artist names are only part of the attraction. Unexpected combinations of performers, producers and genres can make the individual songs events of their own rather than interchangeable pieces of game music.
The announcement followed several days of coordinated teasers from artists connected with the project. Travis Scott, PinkPantheress, Keith Richards and others shared GTA-styled imagery before Rockstar formally revealed the album.
Once the announcement arrived, speculation gave way to six confirmed songs. The rest of the lineup remains deliberately incomplete.
Vice City Gives 34 New Songs a Big World to Fill
Rockstar says the album’s 34 original tracks were created to capture the energy of Vice City and Leonida, the fictional state where Grand Theft Auto VI takes place.
The first six releases already suggest Rockstar isn’t trying to assign that world a single musical identity.
Rap, electronic music, Latin sounds, country and rock can all plausibly occupy different corners of a Florida-inspired setting. More importantly, that variety mirrors the way Grand Theft Auto has historically used radio stations to make different neighborhoods, cars and moments feel distinct.
A player might spend one drive listening to contemporary hip-hop and the next hearing classic rock or electronic music. The soundtrack becomes part of moving through the environment rather than simply sitting underneath it.
There is also an important distinction between Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album and everything players will eventually hear in the game.
Rockstar has announced 34 original songs for the album, but it has not presented those 34 tracks as the complete GTA VI music library. In fact, the company says more information is still coming about the game’s dynamic score and “next evolution” of in-game radio.
That leaves one of the largest music questions around GTA VI unanswered: how extensive the licensed radio soundtrack will ultimately be.
Why a GTA Placement Can Matter Outside the Game
The audience for these songs won’t necessarily stop at people actively playing GTA VI.
Grand Theft Auto has spent decades functioning as an accidental discovery engine for music. Its radio stations have put older recordings next to contemporary hits and exposed songs to players who may never have encountered them through conventional radio or playlists.
GTA VI adds another possibility. Instead of merely rediscovering existing recordings, Rockstar can now introduce original songs at the same moment millions of players are encountering the game.
That creates several paths for a track to travel. Someone can hear it while driving through Vice City, save it on a streaming service, encounter it through an artist’s own fan base, or buy the soundtrack as a physical collectible.
The album format also gives Atlantic Records a conventional music product to promote independently of Rockstar’s game marketing. Music Business Worldwide reported that Atlantic will release the soundtrack, with all six initial songs issued ahead of the complete November project.
For artists, that potentially makes a GTA VI song more than an in-game placement. It becomes a standalone release attached to an enormous entertainment launch.
Most of the GTA 6 Soundtrack Is Still Being Kept Secret
The September 17 announcement answered one major question about GTA VI’s music while creating several more.
Rockstar has confirmed the 34-track album, released its first six songs, detailed the physical editions and established November 19 as the release date. It has not disclosed the other 28 tracks.
Several parts of GTA VI’s wider music strategy also remain unrevealed:
- The complete artist lineup for Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album
- The remaining original songs and collaborations
- The full list of in-game radio stations
- The licensed songs appearing outside the 34-track album
- How GTA VI’s dynamic score will work
- Whether additional album singles will arrive before November 19
Rockstar is explicitly telling players to expect more. Its announcement ends by promising additional details about GTA VI’s music, including the dynamic score and the next generation of the series’ in-game radio.
For now, “That’s It,” “RHYNO,” “Sexy Magic,” “Last Thing You Need,” “Macacoa 2000” and “Bright Lights, Big City” are available across major streaming services. The remaining 28 songs are still waiting for their reveal.
Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album arrives November 19, 2026, alongside Grand Theft Auto VI.
