HYBE is taking its cinema festival worldwide for the first time, turning concert films, two live BTS broadcasts and an interactive K-pop screening into a weeklong theatrical event across more than 60 territories.

HYBE CINE FEST 2026 will run from October 24th through October 31st in partnership with event-cinema distributor Trafalgar Releasing. The six-part program combines new concert films from SEVENTEEN, TOMORROW X TOGETHER and ENHYPEN with two BTS live viewings and the participatory HYBE CHEERING PARTY.

The worldwide expansion follows editions staged in Latin America in 2024 and Asia in 2025. Trafalgar Releasing’s announcement describes 2026 as the first time the festival will reach more than 60 territories.

Rather than treating theaters as places to replay one finished concert movie, HYBE is building a temporary cinema network around several artists, live performances, sing-alongs, merchandise and fan activities. The result is less like a conventional theatrical release and more like another international distribution window for HYBE’s live-music business.

BTS Turns Two Tour Stops Into Global Screenings

The most direct connection between cinema and an actual live concert comes from BTS.

Two performances from the group’s BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’ will reach participating theaters as live or time-delayed broadcasts. The Buenos Aires Day 3 concert is scheduled for October 24th, followed by the São Paulo Day 2 show on October 30th.

Buenos Aires is particularly notable. HYBE and Trafalgar describe it as BTS’ first live-viewing broadcast from South America and the group’s first performance in Argentina. The broadcast will screen October 24th in the Americas and October 25th elsewhere because of time-zone differences, MBW details.

São Paulo closes the festival week with another broadcast from the tour’s Latin American leg. Depending on location, theaters will again receive either the live performance or a delayed presentation timed for local audiences.

BTS already has evidence that this format can operate at blockbuster scale. The group’s 2022 Permission to Dance on Stage – Seoul live cinema event generated approximately $32.6 million from 3,711 cinemas across 75 countries and regions in a single day, according to Trafalgar figures cited by MBW.

A physical tour remains limited by routing, venue capacity and travel. The cinema network can expand the audience around the same performance without adding another concert date.

Three Tours Become New Concert Films

The BTS broadcasts are only part of the lineup. Three other HYBE groups are getting theatrical premieres built from recent tours.

SEVENTEEN WORLD TOUR ‘NEW_’ IN INCHEON captures the group during the tour that followed its 10th anniversary, while TOMORROW X TOGETHER WORLD TOUR ‘ACT : TOMORROW’ IN SEOUL brings TXT’s fourth world tour to theaters. ENHYPEN’s WORLD TOUR ‘BLOOD SAGA’ IN SEOUL draws on the group’s vampire-centered visual world and the Seoul performances that launched the tour.

All three are being positioned as theatrical premieres rather than simply archival videos placed on larger screens. The Korea Times describes the broader rollout as reaching more than 1,100 theaters, giving the films a distribution footprint far beyond the cities where the performances were originally recorded.

Concert cinema creates a second commercial life for tour production. Sets, choreography, staging, live arrangements and visual concepts developed for a limited run of physical shows can reach another audience after the original performance ends.

For SEVENTEEN, TXT and ENHYPEN, the films also let viewers encounter complete tour concepts rather than isolated clips circulating through social platforms. The cinema becomes another place where the scale of those productions can be presented deliberately.

HYBE Wants the Audience to Make Noise

Not everything in the festival asks viewers to sit quietly and watch a finished performance.

HYBE CHEERING PARTY is designed as a participatory screening built from music videos and performance footage by 13 HYBE Music Group acts. The lineup includes BTS, SEVENTEEN, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, ENHYPEN, LE SSERAFIM, &TEAM, BOYNEXTDOOR, TWS, ILLIT and KATSEYE alongside newer roster acts.

The official festival notice encourages audiences to sing along and cheer inside the theater, with English romanization helping viewers follow Korean lyrics. Fanchant prompts are incorporated into the presentation, while the program also uses 3D-enhanced on-screen elements.

That approach borrows behavior from K-pop concerts rather than conventional movie screenings. Coordinated chants, light sticks and collective participation are already part of the live experience, so the cinema event is designed around those audience habits instead of asking fans to behave like ordinary filmgoers.

It also makes the festival less dependent on whether somebody has already seen a particular tour. CHEERING PARTY packages multiple artists into one communal program, giving HYBE CINE FEST something closer to a roster showcase alongside the individual concert films.

The Festival Extends Into Theater Lobbies

HYBE is pushing the event beyond the auditorium as well.

More than 10 cinemas worldwide will operate as Special Locations with fan-oriented installations including photo areas, artist message walls and stations for decorating light sticks. A smaller group of Special Location Plus venues will add merchandise and capsule-style Gacha Zones containing DIGITAL CODE re:CAP performance content.

Enhanced locations include cities such as Seoul, Tokyo, Mexico City, Berlin, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur, while the full location list extends across additional Asian, European and Latin American markets.

Los Angeles and Paris will receive separate HYBE CINE FEST stores selling official merchandise and digital performance products. Merchandise will also extend into online and specialist K-pop retail channels during and after the festival.

That physical layer makes the cinema part of HYBE’s fan-commerce strategy. At selected sites, the company can surround a screening with merchandise, photo experiences and activities resembling pieces of the environment around a concert or fan event.

The theater is doing several jobs at once: screening venue, communal fan space and retail destination.

Earlier Editions Built a Real Cinema Audience

HYBE CINE FEST did not begin at this scale.

The format launched in Latin America in 2024, where it drew approximately 260,000 attendees. HYBE expanded the concept into Asia in 2025, attracting roughly 320,000 moviegoers, figures cited by The Korea Times.

Those earlier editions gave HYBE evidence that fans would gather in cinemas for music content under a shared festival identity rather than only for one superstar concert movie.

The 2026 version changes the geographic ambition. Trafalgar Releasing is taking the event into more than 60 territories, while local arrangements add another layer. Lotte Cinema will handle Korean screenings exclusively, with Japan receiving a separate rollout through Avex Pictures.

The expansion also arrives while live performance is carrying unusual financial weight for HYBE. Concert revenue jumped 243.3% year over year to KRW 647.7 billion, approximately $432 million, in the second quarter of 2026, with BTS touring helping drive the company’s record quarter, MBW notes.

Cinema is not replacing that touring business. HYBE CINE FEST instead creates another commercial window around the performances and production already being built for it.

Concert Films Have Become Repeatable Music Products

The wider theatrical market helps explain why HYBE is treating cinema as more than a place to archive concerts.

Trafalgar Releasing has already seen how large the format can become. The company handled international distribution for Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour, which surpassed $261.6 million worldwide and became the highest-grossing concert film globally.

K-pop has an additional advantage in this market. Its largest acts have highly organized international fandoms spread across far more countries than even an ambitious physical tour can realistically visit.

A concert film can also create several commercial lives from one performance. The original show generates ticket and merchandise revenue. Filmed material can later support theatrical screenings, digital distribution, streaming, physical releases or other licensed uses depending on the rights and release strategy.

HYBE CINE FEST makes that process visible across an entire roster instead of relying on one blockbuster artist.

There is an archival benefit too. Tour footage that might once have become a DVD, short-lived broadcast or material stored for future use can return as an event-cinema product with coordinated international marketing.

For artists whose choreography and staging are central to the live experience, a theatrical screen and cinema sound system can also preserve more of that production scale than short social clips.

HYBE Is Building a Festival Without One Venue

The most distinctive part of HYBE CINE FEST is ultimately the format itself.

There is no single festival site. BTS will be performing live in South America while audiences watch elsewhere. SEVENTEEN, TXT and ENHYPEN appear through filmed tours. CHEERING PARTY combines music from 13 acts. Selected cinemas add light-stick stations, merchandise and other fan experiences around the screenings.

Those pieces turn movie theaters into another node in HYBE’s wider music ecosystem alongside recordings, touring, merchandise, fan platforms and digital content.

The company is also avoiding one limitation of a conventional concert film by packaging several reasons to attend within the same week. A BTS fan can come for a live broadcast, an ENHYPEN fan for the new tour film, while a broader HYBE listener can choose the multi-artist cheering event.

That gives HYBE CINE FEST the possibility of becoming a recurring event brand rather than a collection of unrelated theatrical releases.

Whether audiences across more than 60 territories respond at the same level as the earlier Latin American and Asian editions will become clearer after October. The worldwide rollout is nevertheless a significant step: HYBE is treating cinema as a repeatable international destination for its music, not simply somewhere to screen a concert after the tour is over.
